we're here! we're here! we're here! and omg we know no french!

captains log, french date zero three, one zero, two thousand nine. 02:19 in the morning.

yes... the joy of joys of jet lag. it's like coming back from asia, going from west to east... sucks.

after a pretty smooth flight, we descended into london airport which is 30 minutes of pure hell. first off, for those of you who are flying to europe, avoid heathrow. it's a nightmare. after circling around london for half an hour, hoping that your plane doesn't run out of fuel, the air traffic controllers then decide, 'hey! there's a 747 out there without any fuel! maybe we should let it land... in 20 minutes.' so after reading malcom gladwell's book 'outliers,' i'm sweating bullets. finally after chewing through a greater portion of my nails, we're allowed to make our approach into the airport, and if you've ever watched the interactive map they have on your airplane, well i think it's a mistake to show you your ground speed, because you're looking at the ground speed reach 150MPH and you gotta wonder how in all things holy is a plane going to keep flying at a measily 150MPH... much less a 747. at the moment you're thinking this, the plane is wobbling like a aeroplaning car from all of the crosswinds, you're looking at your interactive map as the plane slows to a crawl, while still in the air, you're gripping the seat like 'meet the parents' kung fu grip, your girlfriend is smiling calmly while you're crying like a little baby, and then... they land as smooth as if it was a calm day in paradise. unbelieveable.

knowing that you survived a london landing, you think you can survive anything. until you hit the london heathrow connecting flight security check. i refuse to write about this, but let's just say... those turtles from the comcast tv advertisement would have fallen in love.

at any rate, we arrived, our place is awesome, small, quaint, but in a FANTASTIC area in the absolute heart of the city. more to come about our location shortly.

as i'm starting to get a little sleepy, i'm going to try my best (unsuccessfully) to get a little more sleep. but before i go... let me say 3 final words dear reader. 'pan au chocolat.' read grace's blog http://gracecarmel.blogspot.com for details, but... omg... delicious.
